There are 5 nurses that circulate in seeing patients. Some have been on vacation and others have been filling in for others at different parts of the county. I was scheduled to have my wound vac changed tomorrow but one of the nurses called earlier this morning to see if she could change it today. I always say "yes" to their schedule. Whatever works for them, works for me.
The nurse today hasn't been here for 2 weeks due to scheduling. She was absolutely blown away with how much the wound has healed in that 2 week period of time. Butch even commented on how much it healed since being at Dr. Adam's office on Thursday. That's the news I want to hear. I need this wound to be completely healed so that I can deal with any of the side effects that this new chemo drug will give me.
Although this is absolutely fantastic news, I'm feeling frustrated.
I don't see an end in sight.
I'm struggling with feeling that I'm moving forward.
I KNOW I am....I just don't FEEL that I am.

Hi Sharon, I think the body needs sleep to help it heal, maybe you are healing so well because you have slept so much. So sleep is a good thing. Look at it as catch up from all those mornings you got up at 4:30am to get to school! If that's the case, you are still behind! We think of you everyday and pray for your healing.
Much love, Michelle xoxo
OH MY GOSH, SHARON:
You've blogged TWICE TODAY, and ONCE YESTERDAY! YIPPEE! That is a SURE sign that you are getting better! I must confess, I missed hearing about how you were doing on those days that you weren't up to blogging, though I certainly understood why. Yes indeed, with a much improved wound and increased blogging, it's looking like our dear Sharon is taking huge strides on the road to complete recovery.
Keep this in mind - you have nearly won this "battle" that you never asked to fight (and you even have the battle scars to prove it). You've fought, fought some more, and when you didn't realize you had it in you, you fought even more. You are an inspiration to so many of us - you are strong, you are patient, you are blessed, you are loved, you are missed . . . and YOU ARE COMING OUT OF THIS BATTLE A VERY BRAVE AND VERY VALIANT VICTOR!
Love and hugs,
Kelli
You ARE healing, Sharon! All that sleep is paying off! Yay!!
But... I'm so sorry that you're feeling discouraged right now. It's during moments like these, that we must hold on to our faith. Remember that mustard seed: "when the way seems long and the day is dark...and our hearts are heavy with worry and care...That is the time that faith alone can lead us out of the dark unknown." Of course there's much more to this beautiful passage, than what I quoted here, but you know it well. It served you well before your surgery and it will serve you well now. You have that faith, Sharon... and WE also have that faith to hold you through when you're feeling discouraged. You ARE healing, you ARE getting stronger, and you ARE winning against that horrible thing that attacked your body. Remember, just one little grain of a mustard seed, that's all you need.
Big hugs,
Rosemary
Dear Friend,
Just a prayer of thanksgiving that you are healing! Then another prayer that you feel up to blogging more often...simple proof of your healing and returning strength. Then one more prayer that the ONE who loves you more than anything, will continue to keep watch over you. HE knows you better than any of us. The reason you don't feel yourself moving forward is because HE is still carrying you----like the poem "Footprints In The Sand"... Continue to let HIM do that for you. In good time, HE will be walking beside you....as ALWAYS..... Keep the faith sweet woman. All is working according to HIS plan....
special love,
KB
Dear Sharon,
You've been on an intense journey since your diagnosis. It seems so normal to have times of discouragement/restlessness when it feels like progress is coming too slowly. You are a doer! You are a spirited, energetic person. For a word picture... You are a traffic light with one color only...GREEN!
Be blessed as you rest. You are healing and being strengthened for the next leg of the journey.
Also, please be encouraged by the way the Lord has used you as a 'light' to others throughout this (your blog, your home nurses, your doctors, therapists, hospital staff who have attended to you, family, friends, etc.)
You are loved, you are missed, you are prayed for...
Darla
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27
Oh, by the way, do you think it would be appropriate if I hugged your office door at school just randomly when walking by? Would it frighten the children? Perhaps if we could request a life size 'Sharon' picture on the door it would make more sense. Then I could say, "Just giving Mrs. Funk a hug! Can't wait to see her again!"
Would that work?
Darla :)
