Sharon:
I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it is to see your beautiful smiling face! There's one thing that tops that though - and that is seeing that plate of food sitting in front of you, with fork engaged! Awesome, awesome, awesome! I do hope that you were able to enjoy at least a small Thanksgiving meal. It was also wonderful to see all of love and blessings that you had around you on Thanksgiving - and which blessings are always close at heart, even when they aren't under the same roof as you! What a beautiful family that truly loves you and supports you, Butch, Bradley, Gregory, Loren and Val! Yes, you are blessed.
In my rare quiet time over the last few days, I have thought about all of the many blessings that I have. Among the blessings on my list is a very special person by the name of Sharon Funk. I am so very thankful for you, Sharon - for your friendship, your wisdom, your kindness, your thoughtfulness, for the way in which you inspire me to reach out to you and others in need, and for the lessons that you are teaching me about having faith and hope in the face of adversity. Those are just a few of the many things that I am thankful for in you - there are many others. I have come across people and stories about people that I have heard referred to as "heroes" - their stories always amaze me. As I think of you, you have every quality of a hero, and then some:
*You are a very strong person.
*You are every bit a prize fighter, as is evidenced by the fight you have been putting up since April.
*You give hope and inspiration to others, whether they be fighting a similar battle, or a totally different "life battle".
*You always put others first (even when you should be putting YOU first)
*You have more courage than anyone I have ever met.
*When faced with a challenging situation, you have faith that if you place your trust in God, that He will carry you through that situation.
For those reasons and others, SHARON FUNK, you are MY HERO. I dare say that there are many, many others who also call you their HERO!
Sharon - you have fought with every ounce of your being for so long, and Butch has been right there fighting this battle with you. I know that both you and Butch are exhausted - not just physically exhausted, but emotionally and mentally exhausted. Please remember that you have countless friends who truly want to do things to help you - we really do. The distance between us does not matter one bit. Whether it be to take you to a doctor's appt., to help you listen at a doctor's appt., to run errands for you, to fix meals for you, to listen to you, or to just sit with you and be a friend . . . anything.
Thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving Day with me through your blog entry! I am so thankful that you mustered the strength to post the pictures of all of your blessings!
Love,
Kelli
In this season of blessings, I see you my friend-fighting this adversity with quiet courage and dignity. You are a beacon of light for all of us to follow.
Your Thanksgiving pictures are uplifting and beautiful to look at.

Sharon,
Thanks so much for sharing your pictures! It's so good to see you enjoying yourself and surrounded by so much love. It seems like your Thanksgiving Day was just as it was meant to be...Full. Full of loved ones, full of memories, full of happiness, and full of turkey. Hold on to those feelings and memories - they'll help you stay strong and keep fighting!
Much love,
Rosemary
A Belated Happy Thanksgiving to you Sharon. What a treat for us to see your wonderful family and that sweet smile on your face. So glad you were all able to celebrate together. xoxo
