A Cough Here and a Cough There...

I feel like I'm handling my 3rd dose of chemo pretty well. I'm extremely tired. I slept on and off ALL morning.

My breathing continues to be the culprit. It's so difficult to find the energy to just walk across the room. Scary feeling.

I'm coughing today. It's one shallow cough but has been throughout the day. I don't know whether to take that as a good thing (my lung trying to expand) or a bad thing (my lung trying to collapse). I'm keeping an extra close eye on this. When they take fluid off my lung during the thorocentesis procedure, coughing is expected as the fluid is removed and the lung has more room to expand.

I feel an afternoon nap coming on, after all, I have been awake for 2 whole hours already!

Sharon,

I am so glad that you're listening to your body. When your body needs rest, you must rest. When your body needs you to go slow, you must go slow. Make sure to really be observant about that cough! If you're even a bit concerned, please see a doctor! Just as we feel passionatly about helping our students, your doctors (especially some of them) feel equally passionate about helping YOU, their patient. So, call, ask, report your concerns. The more information they have, the better they are able to help you.

Love and hugs...
Rosemary

Take all the siestas you need. I agree with Rosemary that your body is telling you it needs rest. I haven't called as I do not want to disturb your resting time, but my heart and thoughts are with you constantly. Love to you, Butch and "the kids."

Sharon, take all the naps you need. Rest is good and will help you heal (inside and out). I think of you often and really miss you. Take care of yourself so we can see your smiling and loving face soon. Love, Judy R.

Sharon,
You have been on my heart lately and when my thoughts turn to you a whisper travels upward to our mighty God. So glad you share your journey with us. So glad that you are resting - you deserve to sleep as much as your body tells you to. I send my love and support and the Sandman. Irene

Sharon,

I miss you "next door". The library is teaming with activity as usual and Leslie has her story time, which is fabulous, and every now and then I am able to steal a moment to read what you are up to. Rarely do I get a chance to write as someone ALWAYS wants to "check-out" ha ha ha....So this morning I wanted to send along a simple hi and gentle note that you are loved, sleep often, and remember always that you run deep through our thoughts.....
Love,
Peggy
